Who is Hot Wheels Speedshop NZ and why should I buy from you?
We're a team of passionate collectors, engineers, and logistics experts based in Auckland. Our Director, Dillon Harris, is a firefighter by day and a speedway chassis builder by passion. Detail and precision are in our DNA. We're not just selling cars; we're building a community. Why local matters: no international freight delays, next-day delivery in Auckland, real people behind the business you can reach directly, stock based on what NZ collectors actually want, better prices than importing yourself, and supporting a local business that supports the hobby. That's our mission.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
No minimum. Buy 1 case or 100. We work with solo collectors and large operators exactly the same way.
Do you offer bulk discounts for operators?
Yes. If you're running vending machines, we offer wholesale pricing. Vending operators get our absolute best local price, plus free freight on orders of 6+ cases.
What's your return policy?
Got a damaged car? Wrong item shipped? We fix it. Email us photos and we'll either replace or refund within 7 days. Sealed cases are final sale (as per standard industry practice), but individual damaged items are covered.
Where are your vending machines located?
Our machines are rolling out across Auckland from early June. We're placing 8 machines at premium locations across the region. Follow our Instagram (@hotwheels_speedshop_nz) for exact locations and launch dates as we announce new machine locations in real-time.
What payment methods do the machines accept?
All our machines accept both cash and card payments. This is crucial for collectors as cash options are essential. You've got full flexibility on how you pay.
Are all your cars 100% authentic Hot Wheels?
Yes. Every single car is genuine Mattel Hot Wheels. We source directly from Mattel and do not stock replicas or counterfeits. That's not who we are.
How do you verify authenticity?
Our Chief of Authentication is Nick, who has deep knowledge of die-cast variations, release years, and collectible history. Every batch is checked before it hits the machines or goes out in orders. You're buying from someone who knows the product inside out.
What's the difference between Mainline, Premium, Treasure Hunt, and Super Treasure Hunt cars?
Mainline Cars are the bread and butter of Hot Wheels collecting — standard issue with basic paint, plastic wheels, and simple details. Premium Cars are a step up with Real Riders (rubber tires), better paint finishes, and higher overall quality. Semi-Premium Cars sit between Mainline and Premium with some upgraded features. Monster Truck Cars are specialty releases with larger tires and aggressive designs. Treasure Hunt Cars are special limited-production variants that are harder to find. Super Treasure Hunt (STH) Cars are the holy grail — ultra-rare with special paint, rubber tires, and premium finishes. These are what serious collectors hunt for.
How long does shipping take?
We ship within 1–2 business days from Auckland. You'll receive tracking information. Most NZ orders arrive within 2–5 business days. We're local — no international delays and no customs hold-ups.
